It seems like Red Hat is a bit late to the WSL2 party. Oracle Linux has been there for some time and was probably filling the gap for some use cases.
Customers have been asking for this on Red Hat's Customer Portal for a few years now.
I wouldnt touch anything oracle even with a laser pointer.
