He told everyone that he's the CEO of the most powerful AI company at the start of a new "Intelligence Era" of human civilization, a role of unimaginable importance -- kinda funny to imagine him balancing that with neoliberal SF politics. Obviously, cynically speaking, he's likely little more than a bauble, similar to Musk's short-lived contributions to Trump's first administration. I would guess that SF voters wouldn't want to see Altman's face around the mayor, but perhaps he's playing to the donor class.
